MG996R Metal Gear High-Torque Servo Motor (360° Continuous Rotation) | robetix
"The heavy-duty muscle for your mobile robots. The MG996R (360° Version) is a high-torque, metal-gear servo designed for continuous rotation.
⚠️ Important Difference: This is the 360° Continuous Rotation version. Unlike a standard servo (which moves to a specific angle like 0-180°), this motor spins continuously like a standard DC motor but with the high torque and easy wiring of a servo.
Why use this? It is the perfect choice for building Robot Cars or Tank Chassis. You can connect it directly to a microcontroller (like Arduino) without needing an external H-Bridge driver (like L298N), saving space and money.
Features:
-
All Metal Gears: Durable brass and aluminum gearing (won't strip like plastic SG90 gears).
-
High Torque: Up to 11 kg/cm (at 6V) – powerful enough for heavy off-road rovers.
-
Easy Control: Speed and direction are controlled via PWM signal (1.5ms = Stop, <1.5ms = Clockwise, >1.5ms = Counter-Clockwise).
-
Double Ball Bearing: Smooth operation and long life.
Technical Specs:
-
Operating Voltage: 4.8V - 7.2V
-
Stall Torque: 9.4kg/cm (4.8V), 11kg/cm (6V)
-
Gear Type: Metal
-
Connector: Standard 3-pin (PWM, VCC, GND)
Ideal for: Heavy-duty robot wheels, winch mechanisms, and conveyor belts."
